Thanks, Cyd. There's plenty you can do with this formula but I wanted to see what I could do with this more formal and structured shape. :)

Is this a public formula?  I need to check out the other places where new formulas are available.  I wish I had time to hand around the UF forum.  Maybe later this summer.

Yes, you'll find it in om.ufm. This one's called "Five Klein". There are a few other similar sounding Klein formulas in that file. Refresh your formula database if you don't see it, it was added about a month ago. Otto's formula file contains hundreds of formulas so it may be easier to run a search to find it. :)

This is very good, Chris. I particularly like how the squares blend in with the other shapes.

If you're interested in Kleinian fractals, some good images here, here and here, and 3D renderings here.

I have written several Klein formulas, coloring algorithms and transforms, which can be found in the UF public database. I would also recommend Ron Barnett's excellent Klein transforms in reb.uxf. In turn, both Ron's formulas and my own are initially based on those in Morgan_L_Owens.frm

I am slowly working my way through the book 'Indra's Pearls: The Vision of Felix Klein' which hopefully should provide more ideas for formulas.

Thanks, Otto, and I'm glad you like the result!

Those Kleinian images you linked to are gorgeous. I love the glossy ones in particular and Jos Leys' images remind me of Mandelbulb creations. That's just how my mind associates things, I have absolutely no idea of the maths behind any of these, I'm afraid.

Good luck with your Indra's Pearls reading and formulations. Without folk like you writing new material the rest of us are all the poorer! :D

Thanks, Karin. There are a few of these Klein formulas you could check out. I've only tried this one so far.

We are considering suggesting something like this for a future challenge on Ultra-Fractal-Redux so get some practice in while you can! :D :painter: revision

Yes, I'll do that. I'm not sure what I can do with it. I've put in some Orbit Traps but it doesn't look interesting so far. I'll fiddle with it later. I must get something in the larger parts. :)
