The coloured and textured frames here are all made with Ultra Fractal. It's only the plain black outer border that was added later in Photoshop. This is true of all my works; fancy borders by UF, plain black or white borders added elsewhere, after the image is rendered.
Yes, thank you.....I am actually trying to do the somewhat similiar to yours but with photoshop cuz I am not familiar with Ultra Fractal . I am more confortable with Apophysis but perhaps someday I will try to understand Ultra Fractal....
Ah, I see. Well, I make use of UF's transparency and layer/masking capabilities which makes it easy to have different parts going over or under any borders (as in this image here if you look closely).
I don't know if you can render Apo fractals with transparent areas but that could be an interesting idea for you to explore, perhaps. Another idea is to maybe make a fancy border from one fractal and use it to enhance or frame a second fractal. I feel sure there must be people who manipulate multiple Apo fractals in this way.
