Fractal art + stock photos.

With 2009 rapidly approaching and inspired by a recent TV documentary on the perplexing question of Time I thought it would be fun to have a stab at using the image import feature of Ultra Fractal to make a Time related fractal. I found two stock images of clock faces here on DA (see credits and links below), cleaned them up a little and mapped them onto a spiralling Point orbit trap in UF. To make the images a little more interesting I then messed around with various transformations to distort the trap shapes. This being a conceptual piece about what Time "is" and the fact that it has defied all attempts to truly understand it by scientists, theologians and philosophers throughout the ages it seemed only natural to sprinkle the image with some question marks (using image traps again). As a fair amount of work was performed outside UF and photographic images used I thought this would be more appropriate in one of the Mixed Media galleries, though in my mind it is first and foremost a fractal image. I hope you find it interesting, anyway, and thanks for looking!

This will probably be my last deviation of the year so all that remains is for me to wish everyone a very Happy New Year!... wherever you may be and whenever you actually experience that particular moment... it's all relative, after all.
