WARNING about "Fractal Magic"

This is just a warning to anyone who has been approached by a user called ~debora321 to try out a program she has allegedly written, to speed up rendering time in Ultra Fractal... do NOT download this file as it apparently contains one or more Trojans (i.e. malware) that are designed to steal your fractal parameters.

S/he calls the program "Fractal Magic" and the filename is "FMsetup.exe".

Much more info is available on *LaPurr's journal here: [link] including a few more details on one of the Trojans used. Please check it out and respond with any comments there (as I have) - I'm just providing an informative heads-up via my journal to people who may not have read about this news yet. We need to get the word round to all UF users quickly so nobody else gets caught out.

Hehe, thanks.

I use a fractal art program called Ultra Fractal. Throw in three years of serious study, daily practice sessions and a dash of imagination and that is how I do it.

...WOW...man thats cool as crap! lol. I always luv the fractals and wonder how to make em. were did u get the program? can it be gotten at walmart or must u specially order it? but im heading to college and im going to be a computer engineer...hopefully lol it so interesting as to how people do the fractals, it beautiful!

Ultra Fractal is a commercial program available from: [link] You can try it for free but rendered images have an ugly watermark until the program is purchased. Help with tutorials and getting started can be found in the Guide that I've written for newbies here on DA: [link]

Another popular fractal program and a major player in the genre is Apophysis. This one produces a very different type of fractal image but it's free. A new, impoved version has just been released a couple of days ago: [link]

If you have time to study and play with one of these I'm sure you will have fun.
